Our well-equipped laboratory gives us the ability to analyze your pet’s samples quickly and accurately, so we can make timely decisions that support their health and recovery. When your dog or cat is sick, fast answers can lead to faster relief, which is why we’ve invested in state-of-the-art diagnostic tools.
Here’s what we can test for in our in-house lab:
Complete Blood Count (CBC):This test measures the levels of red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets in your pet’s blood, helping us detect infections, inflammation, anemia, clotting issues, and even some cancers.
Blood Chemistry Panel:A blood chemistry profile evaluates how your pet’s organs are functioning, including the liver, kidneys, pancreas, and electrolyte balance. It’s commonly used to diagnose or monitor conditions like kidney disease, liver disease, diabetes, and dehydration.
Urinalysis:By analyzing a urine sample, we can detect urinary tract infections, bladder stones, diabetes, kidney problems, and signs of dehydration.
Infectious Disease Screening:We offer rapid, in-clinic testing for several serious and potentially life-threatening infections, like heartworm disease, tick-borne illnesses, feline leukemia virus (FeLV), and feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV).
Cytology:Cytology involves examining cells collected from the skin, ears, lumps, or bodily fluids under a microscope. This test helps us diagnose skin infections, ear infections, allergies, abscesses, and the nature of masses (whether benign or malignant).
Fecal Examination:A microscopic evaluation of your pet’s stool can reveal the presence of intestinal parasites such as roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, and Coccidia.
